22 May. 3rd CPA undergraduate conference. The Ultimate Entrepreneurship Challenge.

It was really a great experience having to attend this conference organized by the CPA ASC. The event was sponsored by 'Money Tree' Asia Pacific Limited, a company which offers & conducts programs on improving financial, investment and entrepreneurship amongst the young. The CEO of Money Tree was among the speakers for the conference. A great man with great entrepreneur experience.

First off, we were thought what entrepreneur really is. Instead of entrepreneur, intrapreneur on the other hand was not left out. Intrapreneur is in regards to the betterment of the organization itself. Michael Reyes, the CEO of Money Tree, told us that there was a serious problem with the asian teaching culture or would he say around the world. The problem itself was that the students does not express themselves. That's why he came out with the Money Tree concept which helps kids from age 6-26 to deal with their finance and reward them in term of 'money' for each task and assignment fulfilled. With the 'money' earned, they can use it to bid for an auction within the Money Tree. This concept would not be practical without much acquaintances.

80% of the people we need in our career, we have not met.

That's why there's a need for us to reach out to people we don't know and that someone might be the one who help us build our career. Michael Reyes use to operate his own flight agency and he wanted to advertise his agency in an international style. So he requested 'white people' to advertise in his ad. An agency sent him 2 top polish student for his ad. Obliviously, the 2 polish students ask him to make a study in polish and make a survey to build up a certain company there. Few years later, the company was listed in Poland.

Do not live life for the sake of existing but live life for the sake of significance.

It's very funny how we live our daily life. As a student, there is plenty if time(when you're taking 4 subjects a semester). Michael Reyes took 19 papers in one semester during his 2nd year in university just to get himself a double major. Life wasn't easy for him back then. Taking 4 subjects a semester might seem hard on us because we restrain ourselves to live to the fullest by making every moment of our life count. Much time has been wasted like facebook-ing, youtube-ing, etc. Make use of every moment building a strong foundation for the future.

Learn from mistakes. If you DO fall, fall FORWARD because when you get up, you're one step AHEAD.

Nobody was born perfect. Everybody makes mistakes but don't make the same mistakes twice. Even leaders make mistakes but mistakes are subtle. Every leaders needs to make decision and every decision comes with a risk. The matter for the leader is to minimize the risk involved.

Talk 1-on-1 and look them in the eyes.

Michael Reyes might have done talks which he needs to confront thousand of audience. But he can't talk to thousands at a time. He talks 1-on-1 and look them in the eye and the rest will happen to be listening. Switch target alternately. When explaining, go to the details. People who listens are painters. Every word that comes out from the mouth gives the listener a picture in their mind. So let them remember what you told them by letting them paint the picture. Use body gestures to help them paint the picture.

Give surprises.

To convince investors to invest into your project, you need to excite them. That's when the 'elevator pitch' principle takes the play. If the investor press level 39 on the elevator, you press 40. When the door shuts, the executive summary of the whole project is explained to the investor in 30 seconds. If the investor is excited about the project, he'll ask you to elaborate further in his office when it reaches level 39.

Other than having the privilege to listen to his talks, we were given a entrepreneurship challenge. In a group of 12, we need to come out with a new idea in 2 hours time that Michael Reyes himself would invest with the amount of RM500, 000. It was tough. During the presentation, all we heard was criticism and sarcastic words spitting out from his mouth. But overall it was great to learn from mistakes.

An immense battle over the hulu selangor seat start a week ago which was left vacant due to the late minister who passed away 2 weeks ago after struggling with lung cancer for a period of time until he finally couldn't persevere the hazardous disease.

The government party, Barisan Nasional are desperately in need for this vacant seat to secure their sovereign power in the parliament (where a place they can all 'pakat' and corrupt together with other government ministers) and are seeking for any possible gimmicks to insinuate the public to vote for the government party.

Ok, now the news. First, the media filmed one guy wearing a PKR tee climbing up a billboard and used a sickle to tear down the Barisan Nasionals' billboard. Conspiracy #1 : was it a coincident that the media was there ready and filmed the PKR-guy climbing up the billboard and tearing it down? wow~ are the medias like paparazzi now? Conspiracy #2 : would a reasonable person wear the opposing party's tee so obviously and do this unlawful act?

answer: Barisan Nasional did them. (obviously)

Second news, a guy was killed and was informed that the guy was a Barisan Nasional supporter. The media even showed a sms that stated ' Mayat seorang penyokong BN ditemui dalam longkang'. No signs of physical injuries on the body. Conspiracy #3: how did they know he was a BN supporter? BN supporter so what?? he might have offended someone else which has nothing to do with the election-thingy.

well, obviously the government party is trying to insinuate those innocent residents of Hulu Selangor with whatever creative gimmick they had in mind.

Whatever the BN tries to do, we know what you're thinking. NO WAY WE'RE GIVING YOU A DAMN CHANCE!!!

Apple iPad. release to the public on the 5th of April. Basically it's a bigger iPhone. How did Steve Jobs get this idea? According to my conspiracy theory, it's an e-book + iPhone. majority of the american schoolers got themselves an e-book as an replacement for the conventional text book that we once used. The market for e-books are huge. So the intention is to monopolize the e-book market. it sold 300, 000 units on it's first day.

The iPad runs on HTML5 instead of flash. HTML5 is still new but it's much less complicated than flash. The problem is that there isn't any website that runs on HTML5 but just weeks before the launching, dozens of websites started HTML5 compatibility.

iPad is the future. Or is it? literally yes. practically no. Well, theoretically it's gonna replace the netbooks product line as the performance and capability are no much different. Netbooks will eventually die in 1 or 2 more years. The evolution of technology brings humans to a new trend of using a computer.

The major issue of the iPad is the keypad. It's much bigger than an iPhone so u can't only use ur thumbs. if the screen's viewing angle is straight to your face, your wrist are breaking at an awkward angle to type on the screen. If you flatten the surface like a keyboard, the screen-already reduced in practical display real estate - starts to be obscure by your hands. So how? external keyboard? that would be a hassle. If it were me, i'll install a laser projected virtual keyboard into the iPad.

iPad lacks a webcam. I want video calls.

Although it uses its new A4 processor which remains secretive from the public, it's just a single core ARM Cortex A8 processor which performs like POWERVR SGX535 GPU (cracked by Chipworks). The iPhone uses ARM Cortex A8 processor but at lower clock speed. The POWERVR SGX535 GPU is what's on the iPhone 3GS. It should have used ARM's dual-core 1.5Ghz to knock out all existing netbooks.

had a sudden incline lascivious towards european cars especially Audi. Taken by gesture when i saw a black Audi A5 and R8 in the net. Just love the curves on the car be it the chrome lining or the light emitting diodes. Simply awesome.

appearance aside, Audi has been the leader in luxury automotive among its competitors in technology wise. First to implement LED lights on the front beam and rear lights. New Audi A8 requires a built in intel processor and Geforce graphics to operate the software.

And their new e-tron concept is simply fabulous. The current engines developed by Audi either running on petrol or diesel doesn't disappoint any car enthusiast and are capable to produce a decent power without modification. Needless to say if modification is being made.

The e-tron concept will be completely operating on electric and being rumoured to produce 313hp and a mind boggling 1000Nm. 0-100km/h in 4.8s.

it was really an awkward moment yesterday somewhat in the afternoon when 1 of my friend was experiencing severe menstrual cramp during her period. Having to show a little benignancy as a friend, I departed from the lecture hall with another friend to buy some painkillers or paracetamol to relieve the menstrual cramp. And as a matter of fact, i neither had any experience buying these sort of stuff for female friends and so as my other male friend.

We headed for the bookstore inside the building which was acknowledged by another friend of ours that they do sell these sort of emergency items there. As soon as we reached there, we saw a transparent box with a few column filled with different kind of paracetamol with different functionality. Initially i thought the one stated 'muscle and joints' should be the one but luckily i spotted the other one stated 'menstrual cramps'. As soon as i pulled out a row of paracetamol for menstrual cramps, 2 ladies beside me were looking at me and my friend suspiciously like we're a gay couple. Then as we proceed onto the cashier to purchase the item, the cashier asked us 'u confirm want to buy this ar??'(and she asked twice). We just simply answered yes and told the cashier that we are buying for a friend. Then she replied 'ooohhh'. As soon as we did the purchase, we left the scene as fast as possible.

moral: make sure you don't have a gay looking partner with you when you are going shopping for your female friends.

After almost five years of having the right to posses and utilize one of the product by the world's crappiest car manufacturer, the Proton Savvy, i finally had the chance to make my valediction to car that took me around Kuching and the furthest being to Sibu.

Back then when i was still in my 5th year in secondary school which i just attained my driving license, i was so intrigued into cars so practically i indirectly insinuated my dad to buy a car. My comprehension regarding cars back then wasn't deep as i would have now. Proton Savvy was just launched in that particular year right after Perodua launched its own version of hatchback called the Myvi. Having a big-boys toy to start off while being an average secondary school student was a real tight budget. Nothing much could be done but i was satisfied with it since no mechanical or technical problems occurred upon the car within the first 2 years.

Disaster came right after 2 years. And that was when the warranty period is void. Clever proton. Their products are only able to sustain 2 years thanks to the GREAT quality they offered. The car became a total CRAP right after 2 years. to name a few, power steering fluid leaks, rear suspension fluid leaks, defects on the small piece of metal between the front suspension and the chassis which causes cracking noise whenever i steer and rusty exhaust which eventually broke. The worst of all was when the fan malfunction which causes the engine to operate in a higher temperature than it normally does which causes the gasket to bend and allowing the engine oil to enter the combustion chamber thus caused the spark plug to spoil and consequently affected the coil (a.k.a. the distributor for older cars) to malfunction. This is a hell lot of a CRAP!! i had to overhaul the engine back then.

so much CRAP for a CRAPPY car from a CRAPPY manufacturer supported by CRAPPY government. The lesson of the day, DO NOT BUY PRODUCTS MADE FROM MANUFACTURERS THAT HAS NO SUCCESSFUL HISTORY IN THEIR CORRESPONDING FIELD. Well Perodua is smart enough that their products are based on Daihatsu (now owned by Toyota). So whenever you feel unsatisfied by their products, u can always find a better version by upgrading the current spare parts with Daihatsu or Toyota. Just so you know, JDM (japanese domestic market) cars are far better off than cars being sold in foreign countries. So getting a Perodua is always better than getting a Proton.

it's the day where chinese celebrates this last night to mark an end to all their jubilant mood since the lunar new year. Families would be congesting every notable restaurant around town and spending the rest of the night with their families. And not forgetting, it's also known as the oriental valentines' day.

Singles' life is so much carefree as ever. Despite having almost the whole kuchingnites celebrating this occasion, i still stick to my routine to go work out in the gym. As soon as i arrived the gym, one side of the room was dark which the trainer left the lights off. For the reason that the gym was completely empty. Everyone seems to be out having dinner with their family.

After working out in the gym, i went to Ta Kiong to do some groceries as assigned by my mum. After doing the groceries, i stop by the shop beside where they sell duty-paid products. I couldn't control myself and eventually bought myself another bottle of red wine which would be my 3rd bottle for the month.

Kinda satisfied with my purchase but, whose gonna drink with me?

2010. first day of the Lunar year coincidently falls on the same day as St. Valentines' day.

cool? yea..so much anticipated that i hoped some miracle event would eventually happen on that day but eventually due to certain circumstances that occurred somewhat a week before, i was much disappointed.

nothing particularly was planned on that specific date itself. Went to church meeting in the morning, then in the afternoon i practically did nothing much. In the night, i got bored so i planned to watch some anime to kill some time but Tim called and ask me to go to Yao's place to gamble. Disappointed for the 1st time, Jack quarreled with evan so the game had to be called off and changed to a movie instead. Of all the movies showing in the cinema, Jack chose 'Valentines' Day'.

the verdict : BORINGGGGGGG!!!!!!! (well, it's nice to see how the movie evolves but the point??)

everyone was like having their partner to the movies and i was like 'uh!'... the only single out? come on! if you guys weren't so desperate to have a partner, we would be having fun like old times.

Then had another movie date with them (yea, on a special day for me but none of them seems to remember thanks to their dates! and even the one beside me don't seem to get a clue. yea, forget it.)

Percy Jackson and the lightning thief. Some people's verdict was great but for me, sorry. almost everything bout the movie is wrong. If you are someone aged 8-12, you might find it amusing but not for me. How can they use greek mythology in the US? it's so wrong! mount olympus on the empire state building? according to the mythology, mount olympus was in greece!

a minotaur appeared in the sheep's farm? minotaur are only found on rocky mountains!

and there's medusa's 'sakai-ness' of what an iPod touch is while percy is trying to take it back from her

and how could medusa's garden appear in the US? does the olympian gods love US so much? they must be so much addicted to the rich CO2 emission there.

The overall story is simple and easily predicted. doesn't excites me at all. It's a KIDS' movie AFTERALL!!!

urgh.... what nauseates me the most are the people in the hall. all couples! what the...

and there goes my day... not being remembered by anyone(well, accept some). even those right beside me don't have a clue. how disgusted i am.

Looking back at my last post, it's almost been a month! wow~ December somehow seem to be packed with programmes, activities and not forgetting unlucky incidents. Reminiscing back in the year 2009, i thought to myself what have i gained through these 365 days. Although personally i faced many hardships and turmoils which i never liked them in any sense, i would like to thank God for leading me through them any experiencing them. At least i learnt a lesson from it

2009, you may brought unpleasant memories into my life but i wanna thank you for letting me experienced them.

Recalling what i had for my 2009 resolutions, neither of them were achieved. So, in the year 2010, i hoped that it'll be somehow better than the previous year.

Currently i haven't thoroughly thought of my new year resolutions so i'll just nit pick some of them which i currently had in mind.

1. Love God more. Pursue the truth through Bible reading. Active in Church-life

2. Adapt a healthier lifestyle compared to 2009. Get a proper diet.

3. Be more attentive in classes and study harder.

4. No more slacking in my business oriented mind. Try to be more practical than before.

5. There must be God in everything i do. Coz everything that i do on that minute of time, will never turn back again. Every decisions i made are in God's Almighty hands.

Thank God for giving me this day.

Operafest.

an internationally known children's choir from west Malaysia has stepped foot and performed in Kuching on the 5th of December. The venue chosen for their maiden performance in Kuching was St. Thomas Cathedral. It was a wise choice to have it organised in this cathedral as the architectural structure of this cathedral resembles the old cathedrals in Europe which produces great vibrations of sound throughout the whole space.

their voices were beautiful and if i would close my eyes enjoying the harmonious sound, I would mistaken myself that i'm in heaven but that wouldn't happen because during the first half of their performance was being aggravate by the drilling noises produced by the construction works in Merdeka Plaza.

and after their performance, the kids will start to ramble around searching for their relatives or friends to buy their cd.

finally.. the continuation of the first part(though it has been more than 2 months).. pardon me...

here goes...

this chicken rice is dubbed as the best chicken rice you can get in penang as the complementary soup that it comes with is not an ordinary chicken soup. It has a sour yet spicy taste just like tom-yum but doesn't taste like tom-yum. The shop is located somewhere near Kek-Lok-Si temple and as i know it was just opposite a bus stop.

this bowl of ice looks like the average ice kacang every kuchingnites can get at Chung hua Primary school no.3. The ingredients maybe below average but the taste is far better than average. It's called 'ai yu bing'. taste great but the surrounding ain't that great.

not much can be seen from this angle. This stall is located somewhere near the clan jetties area or in other word is that opposite of this stall is the clan jetties( but i don't know which clan).

This shop is hiding somewhere near the clan jetties as well if my memory serve me right and all i can recall was that this shop is located opposite a POSLAJU.

located at penang road. As a complementary, there's penang's famous chendol stall just outside the shop selling the asam laksa.

and just a few walks after the chendol stall, you can find a stall selling the local rojak.

i still prefer kuching rojak...hehe

and not to missed out... another infamous dish from penang, the har mee (prawn noodles). they add in 2 types of noodles ( thick one and bee hoon). The taste is just so appetizing.

What word i can use to describe Penang? the answer is FOOD HEAVEN!

The outcome of the unique diversification of the community in Penang are the unique foods by the local community. You even can get Thai food here since Penang ain't far from the Thais. Fortunately i got the chance to try out some siamese dishes made by some thai aborigines during the thai festival along Komtar walk.

this dish is called tom-yum-gung. It taste definitely like tomyum. For this dish, you can have a selection of either mee hoon, kuey tiaw, or noodles to be added into the tomyum.

Then i tried this dish. I forgotten the name but I know the main ingredient is made of papaya. Not bad. Taste sour yet salty.

Another dish i tried is the 'mango and sticky rice'. Basically there's mango added with a little condensed milk and sticky rice which are coloured with pandan and yam flavour.

You can try these 3 dishes at Komtar walk, next to Georgetown White Coffee if the festival is still commencing.

Another special dish on my list is the indian fried noodles.

this indian fried noodles is like the fried hokkien mee in Kuching but loads of spices are being added into the noodles to spice up the taste. Taste like the local hokkien mee but feels like 'ma lak mian'...syok....

This might look like an average cup of milk or soya bean but it isn't. This cup of drink is Coconut Shake. Wow.. people nowadays are being very innovative. Actually they don't shake the coconut instead the add a scoop of vanilla flavour ice-cream on top like a float. Drinking coconut alone feels refreshing enough for me what more to say when they add a scoop of ice-cream on top? lagi syok....

You can only get this treat only from Jalil's special ice kacang in front of Fort Cornwallis.

Later late in the evening i headed down to Northam beach cafe for my dinner.

You get a variety of cuisines here... western or oriental.

This one up here is a French cuisine. It's a crispy toast on top of a mug of hot mushroom soup. You need to use your spoon and poke it from the middle and try stuffing the whole toast into the soup. Then you eat the toast together with the soup.

You can get German sausages here too...

the only german sausage you can have on the whole island of penang.

And not to forget, this is my favourite drink in Penang. The penangnites called it 'am-peh-le' which sounds more like umbrella. Whenever i tried to order this drink, i'll always recall how to pronounce umbrella. And it makes me think of Rihanna's Umbrella-ella-ella...

It's made from a local fruit which i'm not quite clear of the exact name of it in english. The fruit itself is like a nut which is green in colour. So think hard and let me know what it's called...

i got so obsessed over this drink that i forgotten to take a pic of it every time i ordered it. Luckily i remembered it this time but half of it was already in my tummy.

If you like the sour taste in your taste buds, this is the drink for you... syokkk.....

initially i had not a subtle intention to attend the church meeting tonight eventhough i was invited by a brother from the church just minutes before the meeting would start. I was dilly dallying on the internet but with something unpremeditated like this, unconsciously i got myself ready and drove my way to the meeting hall.

straight to the message being delivered by the brother(David Vincent from the U.S.), it was regarding the burden he had for the church in Kuching which faces a temperate degradation. First he was lecturing the brothers(those who are fathers in their family) that it is important to love their child and let them be involved in the church life. Fathers of the family are like generals and mothers are like sarjans.

After lecturing the brothers(fathers), he consequently moved on to lecture the youths. The deadliest threat to all youths are their friends. According to 1-Corinthians 15:33, 'do not be deceived, evil companions destroys good morals'. This verse really took me by gesture. Evil companions lead us to all sort of deadly threats.

Not to be missed out, mothers are also being lectured. He asked the mothers to select between a PhD from havard or a full-time training for their children. When he asked if they want their child to obtain a PhD from havard, no one raised their hand. Then he asked if anyone would like their child to have a full-time training? only a few raised. Unhesitatingly he replied, 'you are all LIARS'. Those who didn't raise their hands meant they want their child to have a PhD. Having their child to have a PhD is like offering their child for education instead of church life. It doesn't mean that they should give up education but in the same time church life comes first. Offering their child to education is like offering their child to Moloch(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molek)

The problem with most humans is that they live by sight not by faith. We believe in what we see.

Therefore, we must have faith in God.

Faith is the sustentation of god-man living.

Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Try entering the command C:\ I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME and download Tears 6.2 to install Guilt 3.0 ..

If all works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

But remember, overuse can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Late Night Teh Tarik 6.1.

Late Night 6.1 is a very bad program that will create SnoringLoudly.wav files.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-Law 1.0 or reinstall another Boyfriend program. These are not supported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have a limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.

You might consider additional software to improve memory and performance. I personally recommend Hot Tasty Food 3.0 and Tongkat Ali 6.9.

the date on the calender had an alluring numeric. 090909 to be exact. As a lonesome guy all these while, i didn't put much high hopes like what other naive teenagers would do if they sees something odd. But who knew, i was contacted by an old primary school classmate to meet up for a karaoke session with come of the other classmates as well in-conjunction with her birthday as well. So without further hesitation i accepted the offer.

It'll be at the Red colosseum.

As i entred the room, this weird nostalgic feeling just struck me. Indeed its glad to see them after a decade(11 years to be exact). There's subtle smile inside me that i can hardly hinder. Their faces might vary a little but it still resembles the old-childish face i used to see during the primary school days.

been busy for the past month preparing for the kuching festival.

i was hoping that i could make some big money from this annual event held to commemorate the nomination of kuching to become a city in 1988.

all different kind of foods from all over kuching either they were well known or just hiding behind some streets came and show their specialty to all citizens or foreigners at jubilee ground.

luck wasn't really on my side this year as kuching was severely struck by the thick haze and the pandemic H1N1 virus which is widely spread around the world causing a decline on the customers to visit the festival.

on the contrary, something 'out of the blue' happened during the fest to make things a little more amusing...lol... just watch the video embedded.

last month on the 3-5th april, i worked for pc image at the pikom pc fair. i was expecting the commission to be received by last week but as usual, delays are often encountered. Fortunately it was only delayed for a week until i was able to receive my commission.

i sold more desktop pcs than the previous fair and i was hoping for a reasonable reward from the company...

After the fair...

but i only received RM114 compared to RM153 from the previous fair. I was kinda disappointed when i received the commission. But it's better than nothing. The worst part is that sharon work on a pure-commission paid basis received a total of RM661 just fot those three days!!! if i were to total my basic salary with my commission, i haven't come close to half of her commission.

i think kuchingnites buy depending on the gender of the salesperson...

many of you who currently live kuching wouldn't turn down the treat. As i'm aware, many of the kuchingnites are so obsessed over starbucks. Recently, Starbucks opened it's 3rd franchise shop @ pre88, Jalan Song. On the 1st day of its opening, i took the chance together with a bunch of friends to hang out at Starbucks experiencing the atmosphere they provide first hand.

A few moments ago, i was being notified that i received a new e-mail from jersey hui. Without any second thoughts, i went to my inbox and opened the following e-mail. As i had my sidelong glance on the title, it read "FW: [Fwd: FW: July 22nd 2009...". On first thought i thought it was just another lame forwarded e-mails predicting the future based on unrelevant grounds. As i continued on with the title, what caught my attention was the last word of the title, "Tsunami"(Whoa... this is serious...) the full title of the mail > "FW: [Fwd: FW: July 22nd 2009 another Tsunami..]‏"

This is something SERIOUS...

Disaster of quakes and tsunami occurring from 3-7pm (UTC +9) which means occurring from 2-6pm local malaysia time. The nearest quake which likely to affect borneo is from taiwan. The distance between Kuching and Taiwan is roughly 2600km. If the waves were to travel on average 130km/h, Kuching will only be affected 20hours later.

From what i can observe from the picture, taiwan is going to experience a severve earthquake and other places including south korea, japan, east coast of china and philipines are going to experiecne disastrous tidal waves.

The quakes were predicted on three places and this three points can form a triangle. The number '3' really catches my attention. Powerful events or sayings or almost anything comes in 3. That's why it called 'the 3 powers'.

they had this big poster inside of their restaurant to make you feel like your in shanghai but it never does.

the specialty of this restaurant is their reputable 'xiao loong pau' which was previously available at King's Centre but suddenly vanished in thin air.

Other dishes such as the roasted duck and noodles was a little disappointment for me.

anyway, if you're craving for 'xiao loong pau', this is the only place to feast your lust.

It's under the same roof with Sarakraf Pavilion(before Westwood) at Jalan Tabuan

In the morning, the place operates just like any other tourist destination displaying local cratfs and selling them too.

In the evening, this place turns into a cafe, bistro and a restaurant.
cafe and bistro operating from 5pm until 1am.
restaurant on the other hand operates from 5pm until 1130pm.

the theme is being local. from the structure to design. from design to food. its local

If you're a food lover, i do recommend this place. it just brings out the best of the local food and you'll just simply love it.
Sarawak is known for its pepper so they often use it in most of their dishes but undeniably fantastic though being spicy.

Once you'd tried it, you start to appreciate being local.

after feasting their lust for the pool, it's time for corporate games...
what game? as usual, i don't even know what the name was called but i can explain how its being played.
Everyone is being divided into 2 teams of equal number of members. The leader of the each team is selected among themselves. Then the leader will give each members a number including himself starting from 1 acsending by 1 until the number of the last person. The 2 teams are being lined up face to face separated by a distance of approximately 30 metres. An object, either a ball or anything tangible(i mean 'grab-able') is being placed in the centre between the two teams. The judge will stand in the middle and shout out a number. The member from both team with the same number will run towards the object and grab it. They must run beyond their own team or the others to score. The unfortunate one who wasn't able to snatch the object will have to try to tag the other person before he runs beyond the teams.

Both teams were neck to neck at the 1st round. We were given a short break in between before the 2nd round.

loads of information and their eclectism regarding the aquaculture were being displayed in the 'aquarium'. Many of them caught us in curiousity as we spent almost most of our life in land so its no surprise for us to awe at the fishes.

the food at lundu was just average. Though being an suburb, having lunch could burn a hole in our wallet. If we weren't aware at first place and let our voracious appetite lead, we would be looking down at heel by the end of the day.

we departed to Retreat Resort shortly after our lunch. Shortly after we arrived our destinated place, the brothers' took charge to the the swimming pool. Doing things their own way...

what happens when a bunch of daft punks went for a trip while having a camera along??

day 1.
arrived at the meeting hall around 9am(actually we had to depart by 9am but as usual, kuchingites are being used to be late for almost any occasion). I'm assigned by ah nick to drive a gospel van to Lundu then the brothers from hall 1 jovially claimed that they'll follow the gospel van that i'll be driving as if the devil may care. On the other hand, isaac got the privelege to drive the other gospel van which is fetching the sister. lucky guy~

Along the way, the whole van was filled with eclectic noises of laughter, cheering, screaming, shouting et cetera.

ah nick told us to stop by a place which he self-proclaimed 'aquarium'. Han ning recklessly answered him okay that in the actual fact that none of us in the gospel van i'm driving nor i isaacs' knew where exactly is this so-called 'aquarium'. We only had 1 clue - it's at sematan. But which part? Initially isaac was tailing me but out of nowhere he got excited and overtook me. Shortly after awhile, he noticed that he got no idea where to head to as he don't even know where is the 'aquarium'.

So he tried to slow down his car in order to let us overtake him but we just don't want to overtake and stayed tailing him.*chuckles* As we got nearer to sematan, isaac got completely clueless so he balked his car by the roadside so we can properly overtake him. The frisky-ness in us hastn't faded so we balked behind his car too. He got down from his car and tried to ask us for directions but as soon as he approaches us, we just drove off leaving him behind. *LAUGHS & CHEERS* Coming back to our humane thoughts, we balked at the small 'pondok' by the roadside to wait for him. Few minutes later, he joined us and 'lepak' while waiting for ah nick to catch up and lead us. Ah nick showed up few minutes later and led us to the so-called 'aquarium'...

went to asajaya last saturday...

digging the root was arduous coz as you know, tree roots grow deep into the ground in order to absorb the moist from the ground. Eventually only 1/3 of the root is above ground level. After exerting for almost 45minutes, we both felt lethargic and decided to chop off the ends which are still stuck in the ground and take what we had digged for the past 45 minutes as a consolation.

Dow Jones' stock really hit hard this time. It hit the mark at around 7k which is considered the lowest since may 1997. Dow Jones weren't the only one who shouldered the tough luck today. Major stocks in the US, Japan, HK, and even Malaysia had their adverse day too. Drastic decline in their share prices. I guess this should be the best time to invest our money as major stocks had reached a close cul-de-sac where there couldn't be a further loss. If the share prices were to drop, there wouldn't be a large gap from our initial investment. Odds for the share prices to float are relatively high.

This really proves that Mr.Bush is a real failure in leadership. He gave a heavy inheritance to obama; 2 wars and a global recession. The global recession is really a burden for Obama. I heard over the radio that obama was gonna leave iraq alone and let them form their own government. This is a good news. I would hope that obama is willing to 'change' the US military force to a more decent form which wouldn't daunt every living human when it comes to military.

we all started off with a clean yet pure empty small room that hardly could any thoughts run through our mind.

life is a metamorphosis...

colours and shapes of different genres gradually being instill in each every room that we pass through. Some are pleasant and sought favor to our sight and some vice versa.

People of different background in each room. Some of them may seem beneficial to us but in fact all of them are beneficial to us depending on our perception towards them. Everyone has their own capacity for something and it's up to us to sought their aptitude and learn from them.

life can be fickle sometimes...

expect the unexpected. But within God's sovereignty, it's always unexpected. Erratic events happen in life to spice up out life. No one like's to live a bovine life neither is our God of a bovine genre. However, sometimes we regard these events as coincidence, but in God's eye never did this word exist(well, exceptional for that in the scriptures in the book of Ruth). Everything are well plan even before we step foot on this earth. The series of room that we're about to visit are all been organized by the all-mighty One.

as we progress, quantum of eclectic thoughts gradually instills themselves in our mind consequently locating us in the state of worries and anxiousness. No human being can foresee the life ahead of them. What happens tomorrow? Would i live for the next 10 days? Would i lose my love ones? Will the sun come out to shine on the pastures tomorrow?

would the time stop and also the earth would stop spinning? ...

if we can foresee, we are considered God but in this universe, there is only ONE God.
Our worries and anxiousness are no longer in existence if we learn to trust God.

how would i like to describe 2009 so far...
hmm... let me see...

due to the global recession in stake, everything seems to be serene or i would say bovine. everyone in the business stream are just idling around and being cautious of their every decisions so that they won't engender themselves in a rancor state.

my birthday was just about a week after chap goh mei and as usual, everyone who came back for cny had left their hometown to commence on what they were up to by then. so i didn't have any plans for my birthday as not many good 'blathers' are still in kch by then. i also didn't want to stir up a convivial atmosphere during my birthday when everyone is bemoaning regarding the global recession.

no plans means no celebration. no celebration means no presents.*chuckle*
but i received text messages wishing me happy birthday since 630am and the latest by 2 days later*hmm* anyway, thanks for the birthday wishes...

as for a consolation, sharon's mum made me a simple cake.*laughs*
it's my first time tasting a simple cake like this. though simple, it's the thought that counts.

it's valentine!! the streets along padungan and waterfront were packed with stalls selling flowers and valentines souvenir... it even caused traffic congestion since last night!.. wow.. the power of love that can even cause traffic jams here and there...

anyway...valentines isn't my motive. Hall 1 is having a blending on the same date with valentines at main hall from 730pm-9pm. Initially it was decide to have a love feast but i don't have the slightest clue how it ended up just having a tidbid or refreshment. I didn't know what tidbit i should bring but since it's valentines, maybe i can try preparing valentines chocolate cookies. haha. weird?? nah.. the saints from hall 1 are gonna be my valentine for that night. haha.

So 1st and foremost, i called up enid(as always if it comes to pastry. credits to her) to get the recipe for the chocolate cookie. Jotting all the items and almost all her advice in my notebook so i don't bungle through the baking. After that, i went to a pastry supply shop in india street but have a haircut before that(hot weather!!). As i dazzle my way to india street, i spotted a few significant things...

since when i opened a restaurant??

they drew a really 'straight' line...

weird but distinctive for me...haha

anyway... i started preparing the cookie once i got back home.

an exciting type of entertainment finally opened for public in kuching recently!!
opened by a company called 'Velocity' at Jalan Kemajuan, Bintawa.
this company is also the one who introduced the game 'laser-tag' in kuching.

GO-KART!!

go-kart is the fundamental key to all types if racing...
everyone who ends up in F1 races started up with go-kart.
so i went to gave it a try though i played it before with my friend's go-kart but that was a long time ago and lost the touch already by now.

though the size is small, the feeling is thrilling!!
don't take this as a small toy.

the go-kart provided by the company are actually could be considered not up to standard. Not all the go-karts that they provide have equal performance. The maintenance is kinda bad.
some kart's brake aren't effective and some lack pick-up power. But new karts are going to replace the old ones next month.

the track available is only 630 feet long but very quirky. not to mention, slippery ground.

it was a great experience having to drive a go-kart.

The tricky part about go-karting is the cornering.
On slippery roads, understeer are most likely to occur.

To overcome the problem, brakes are being applied to lock the rear wheels letting the rear drift while the momentum are being shifted to the front wheels letting it to have more traction on the road. The moment to apply the brakes vary to the angle of the corner.

It's totally a different concept from drifting like the ones that are usually seen on tv. Those type of drifting usually had the front of their car pointing towards the apex while drifting. But this method could not be applied in go-kart.

It's not easy to explain. Experience it and you'll feel it.

the final exam for my semester is coming and i got no motivation 2 study yet...

especially the most 'wuliaw' subject i ever taken in my life(so far)....

it's called 'innovation and change'

not to say it's 'wuliaw' but the lecturer who teaches this subject is a fascinating person. Whenever she lectures, its like she is casting a spell onto us... a sleeping spell....

what ever the reason, what ever it takes... studying all night or reading the book all day or even jumping into the tunnel....

went to arena sukan for badminton just now...
its my 1st time playing at arena sukan and i gotta say that i don't really like playing there.
everything is in blue and it looks so dull.
my legs suddenly became so weak when i was playing at arena sukan as if i just ran a 5km course.
my reaction became slower too. so i didn't play much and spent most of the time sitting there.

those lousy weak legs of mine...

after badminton, i headed straight to swinburne to watch the basketball competition. Its an inter-swinburne basketball competition. It was quite an exciting match where the new comers(mostly with good basketball background) were going head on with the last year's champion. The final result? the new comers won by leading 12 points(what a gap). haha

The both team showed a great play and sportsmanship but the 2nd match between the blackies of swinburne and the geeks (engineering students) didn't show a good performance. The game between the blackies and geeks ended just with 32-30. The blackies won. Throughout the whole game, there weren't many baskets(as you can see by the final scores) but alot of steals and fouls.

the funny thing is...
the taller guys can't jump high but the short ones could jump even higher than the taller ones.

Fishing!!
i meant real fishing not courting gals. haha.

Went fishing with ah wong, jack and evan today.
Destination: Telaga air

It was my(actually the 4 of us) 1st time going up telaga air fishing so that's why i'm posting this blog. haha. Went to fetch evan from her place at somewhere around 1130am. Then went straight up to ah wong's house to meet up with jack and ah wong. Departed with 2 cars(cause that ah jack wanna paktoh lo), SD 5212 and QAD 90(haha!!). So i 'paktoh' with ah wong and ah jack paktoh with evan lo.
We reached our destination by....hmmm....1pm?? i guess so. haha. pardon me for not able to give the exact time cause i didn't noticed the time. By the time we reached there, there was only a person fishing there so we took our time hanging out at the nearby hawker stalls.

After satisfying ourselves with the light snacks sold at the hawker stall, we headed to the jetty to start fishing. Ah wong had his 'full bodykit' with him and he looks so pro with them(but infact he is just an average beginner.haha)

also trying to smile like a pro.haha

On the other hand, ah jack and me became his audience but we couldn't sit still so we played with his 'bodykit'. Ah jack used the 'kiddies' fishing equipment and he looks so funny using it. All he did was just swinging his bait up and down, up and down. He kept this posture for around 10 minutes and he always kept asking the same question 'why no fish' or 'how come like that'.

he used the 'seven-eye' bait which has seven artificial baits on a single string but he only manage to save 2 baits after an hour while the other 5 baits are just lost.haha

We didn't caught any fish by the end of the day but it was quite an experience to enjoy the peaceful scenery at telaga air. The place is halfway under construction and it seems that the government is trying to make a good use out of the place. As i can see, i think they are trying to built another version of Kuching's waterfront. It seems to be a good place for a getaway as the surrounding area is very peaceful and the water isn't that 'clean' like the one we see at waterfront. I felt like jumping into the river for a swim.haha.

Hope that they'll be at least a place for me to relax if there isn't any catch for the day.haha

things are getting worse for me these days...
i thought i could just live a simple life as i could like yesterdays...
but things have changed...
first of all, i had a quarell with my boss yesterday morning. i was so fired up and i kept on thinking of ways to make him regret. my mood wasn't good the whole day. i changed my tyres without his acknowlegdement and putting the bill on him. then he wanted my salary for doing so. what the fuck. first of all he took away my commission that he's suppose to give me. my commission for months!! what the fuck! now u wanna deduct my salary over those tyres? asshole. those commission cost alot more than those tyres fucker!
secondly, i received a call from my mum this noon. she told me that she received a traffic summon for my car. it wasnt just 1 but 2! as i could remember i was stopped by the police for speeding once only! and at that time the police asked for a bribe but i was broke so i ended up being released. but who knows... that fucker screwed me. i'm gonna find that police and report him for receiving bribes. i'm not letting him having a good time.
thirdly, the results for university application was announced today. i received calls from friends asking whether i got the offer o not. what the fuck. i got a bad result ok? isnt it appealing enough? fuck! i think i'm goin nuts! feel like going to commit suicide like the guy who worked in the bank in miri. jumpin off tall buildings and busting my head on the motorcycle.
AARRRRGGGHHHH!!! get these off me! give me break! i don't have the mood to continue my studies now. what do want me to do?? troubles troubles. wish that the rain would come pouring on me washing all the blemishes and leavin me clean...

it's been quite a while since i last blog... really don't know what to blog...
i'm here juz to drop a few words n also juz to update my blog...
well... seems like life's getting bored these days especially the starting of this year... well.. maybe coz it's the end of skl?? everyone went on their own way n live the life they had... really felt a lil fustrated at some friends(dun need 2 mention them lah).. invited them for some gethering n who knows they just 'put aeroplane'... and some friends le... got partner d... always get rejected when i ask him 2 hang out... coz he's always bz with his partner tho..
hmmm.... i'm just sitting in my office room craving for some entertainment... feels like an ass her e... today's the 13 and tomorrow is the 14... which means that tomorrow will b another lonely day for me... valentine valentine valentine... who want to be my valentine?? hmm... i guess it isn't necessary for everyone to find a valentine on valentine's day... why isn't a day for loners?? haha.. it just make loners feel worst tho... haha...
valentine's day a day for love?? i don't think so... i think it's a day created by some poor florist who can't find any business selling flowers... people are making money coz of this stupid event!! shyt la... everything's about money these days... if u wanna bring a gal out... u need to prepare some money(well no only some money but loads of money).. girls could be very demanding.. so it's still safe to be single if your still in some money crisis... hey!! election is coming soon..!! better get in mind who ur voting for... voting for ur valentine wouldn't help k?? vote for those opposing the govenments...!!

these holidays are really burning holes in my wallet!!

it's new year and i'm still jobless... couldn't earn money to make a living... *sighs*

well...who knows, but God knows my crisis... hehe... my 3rd bro-in-law is going back to australia tomorrow with his family so, he gave me an 'early advance'... an ang-pau!! WOOO!!... i'm thinking that luck are starting to slide on me!! yeah!... next monday, i'm going for an interview at top-star development. hope that i could get an employment by the company. if it turned out bad, i still got a backup. hehe. a friendi know from myclassmate is going to quit his job as an accountant clerk soon. so i guess there shouldn't be a problem being unemployed. if both jobs didn't turn out as well, i guess i have no choice but work at the shopping mall(the spring)...

besides, i'm on an 'mission' now... hehe... nothing big, just helping some guy to take an exam for the unit trust examination this coming february. i'm still in the process of learning about the whole unit trust thingy. if i manage to pass this exam, i get another advance from the guy. hope that i could finish studying the whole 'syllabus' he gave me in time.

it's yet another day in a year where i'm gonna sit quietly and flashback on what i did in this year then kiss this year goodbye.

frankly speaking, not much things happen. but i couldn't say that as many things i experienced in this year...

year 2007... 7 is my favourite num and i hope it brings good things to me in this year but it was awkward... this year... i saw many deaths... many unhappy things occur...

had many activities this year but giving it out of 10, i only enjoyed 2-3 of it...

there must be death in order for resurrection... as the number 8 represents ressurection, let 7 represent death... hope that year 2008 be a promising year for all of us...

i had a great time planting memories in form 6.
my form 6, started at july2006 and ended 3 december2007. time really flies.

i just can't believe i finish my stpm in a blink of an eye. my days in form 6 ended when the time reached 4.30pm 3 dec monday afternoon. at 1st, i felt so relieve that i finally get to feel the taste of freedom. for the next 6 months, no more waking up early, no homework, no strict disciplines and much more that you could expect from a school.

when night falls, classmates gathered at my house for a bbq. the bbq that night went quite smooth. by the end of the bbq, it just left the foofeets hanging out at my place.

some of my classmates and i went to lundu the following day for a trip and stayed there for one night. the 2 days in lundu passed so fast like the waves washing the shores and the sands leaving the beach. at that time, i really can't believe it... are we goin to part ourselves after returning kuching from lundu just like that?? how about the memories we had shared in the one and a half years time in form 6?? the laughters we shared?? the support on each of our backs??are we gonna slot these memories in a time capsul to burry it in the ground??....

.....face the fact..... this is life.....

there are times that we should leave something behind in order to move forward.

memories-a past progressive noun. we cant always hold back living in the past. nobody can walk forward straightly with their head facing back.

woke up 845am yesterday morning. went out to my other house to supervise the renovation.
it was raining heavily that morning. i was drivin without conscience. still in the midst of my mind. nothing that i was thinking about. driving on a straight road, as the car in front of me accelerating faster, i started to lost sight of it due to the heavy shower pouring. at that time it struck me. my 'vision' is really getting blur. i dont know how to move on with my life. i feel so dull these days. wondering if someone would walk up to me and just kill me.

as i reach my destination, i stayed in the car for quite sometime to get my act together. there, i could hardly feel my heart beating. i feel so so so down. i dont know the causes.

i lost myself...
this isnt me....

until now, i feel the same.

i need a compass... lead me the way... find me back...

hemoglobin

woke up at 9am yesterday(sunday). felt a little sick at that time. didnt bother much bout myself so i got myself cleaned up and ready to leave house. i was plannin to go for the blood donation at hilton that mornin. so i reached hilton at 930am. at that time, my nose was running caused by the rain these days. i held my flu as much as i could. i had a though that i couldnt donate my blood that mornin cause of my flu.

i sign myself up for the blood donation. surprisingly, during the sign-up i met up with connie. she was there to take photographs of the event. after that, the pathalogist had my blood tested to see whether im qualified to donate my blood. 2 results came out...

1st test result- im B+ (rhesus positive > i can get married!! haha)
2nd test result - my blood lack of hemoglobin (less than 2.5)...

due to the second result, i ended up not donating.

once i reached 18 years of age, i've been tryin my best to attend blood donation campaign to donate a portion of myself to help others but it seems that luck isnt on my side. through my past account that i've remembered, i've been sick durin the campaign and couldnt manage 2 attend sometimes. maybe God just doesnt want me to donate?

moving on, since i cant donate my blood on that day, i sign-up to be an organ donor. well, i guess through this program, i believe i can help those in need to continue their lives when my time comes. i really do hope that more people are aware of this program and are willing to offer their parts for those in need.

i left hilton around 1030am for my church meeting. i didnt stay long there and went back home at 1115am. at home i filled my empty stomach with some food in the kitchen then went back to sleep. i really slept for quite a long time for that afternoon maybe it is due to the lack of sleep for the past few weeks.

actually i was indeed getting worried about my health. at 1st i though i could maintain good health cause i've been getting myself fit by going to gym 3 times a week. who knows i ended up lacking of hemoglobin. haiz... i think i gotta be more aware of my nutrition.

eat healthy too.....
